Kadai Chicken

                      

Ingredients:

Chicken - 1kg(cut into medium size pieces)
Curd - 1/2cup
Shallots(sliced) - 50 g
Chili Powder - 1 tbsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder - 1 tbsp
Coconut milk - 1 cup
Cashew nut - 50g
Bird's eye chili(kanthari mulaku) - 25g
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Coconut oil
Salt

Instructions to prepare:

Marinate the cleaned chicken pieces with salt & curd.
Heat oil in a pan and add sliced shallots, chili powder, turmeric powder & coriander powder. Mix well. Cook till the shallots becomes brownish. Add the marinated chicken pieces to it. Stir well and add some water. Let it cook. Add 3/4 cup coconut milk to the cooked chicken.
Grind the cashew nuts, bird's eye chili and the remaining coconut milk to get a paste. Add this paste to the cooked chicken. Add garam masala and stir well. Let it boil. Cover and cook till the chicken is done on a reduced flame. Check in between, give a stir and add more water only if required.
Remove from flame and garnish the dish with coriander leaves.
