Fish Biriyani

                       
      

Ingredients:

Fish - 1 kg, sliced(I used pomfret)
Biriyani Rice - 1 kg
Green chilies - 8
Ginger - 2 tbsp(chopped)
Garlic - 2 tbsp(chopped)
Tomato(big) - 2(chopped)
Onion - 1 kg(finely sliced)
Biriyani Masala - 2 tsp
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp(chopped)
Pudina leaves - 1 tbsp(chopped)
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
Lemon - 1
Chili Powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Pepper powder - 1 tsp
Ghee - 3 tbsp
Oil

Instructions to prepare:

Marinate the fish pieces with chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, pepper powder & salt. Set it aside for few minutes.
Fry the these fish pieces in a frying pan and transfer it to a plate.
Grind green chilies, ginger and garlic in a mixer grinder. Set it aside. In a thick bottom pan, add some oil and saute this ground mixture till the smell comes. Then add sliced onion and a pinch of salt. Saute well and then add tomato. Add the Biriyani masala, coriander leaves & pudina leaves. Squeeze a lemon and pour the extract  to this masala and stir well for few minutes. Then add the fried fish pieces to it. Combine everything well and remove from flame.

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker and add the biriyani rice to it. Saute for few minutes. Boil the rice by adding little amount of water to it. Add cardamom powder & salt. Close it and cook up to 1 whizzle.
Then add the early prepared fish masala to it and mix with the rice in a layered manner. Again close the cooker and cook under low flame for 5 minutes.
Remove from flame.
