Prawn Biriyani

                       

Ingredients:

Biriyani rice - 1 kg
Prawn - 1 kg
Onion - 1 kg
Tomato - 2
Ginger - 50 g
Garlic - 50 g
Green chilies - 10 Nos
Chili powder - 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Garam masala- 1 tsp
Coriander leaves - 10 g
Pudina leaves - 10 g
Lemon juice - 2 tbsp
Ghee - 1/4 cup

Instructions to prepare:

Add turmeric powder, chili powder & salt to the cleaned prawn and mix it well and keep for a while.
Heat oil in a pan and add the prawn. Fry it well. After getting fried, ladle it to another plate. In the remaining oil in the same pan, add ginger, garlic and green chili which has been crushed together. Add sliced onion and saute till it becomes brownish. Then add chopped tomato. Add 1/4 cup water, garam masala & required salt.
Reduce the flame, cover and cook till it turns to a gravy.
Add the fried prawn to it along with some coriander leaves, pudina leaves and 1 tsp lemon juice. Stir well and remove from flame.
      

Soak the biriyani rice in water for a while and drain it. Add ghee to a pressure cooker and the drained rice. Stir well. Add enough water and remove from flame after one whistle. Add the prepared prawn masala over the rice.
      


Close it under reduced flame so as to produce steam. Wait for 10 minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
